| JohnnyoftheWell Deloused is easily the worst produced album of their first three (though not on the level of the car crash they hit on Bedlam), has always sounded flat as a pancake to me as does Toxicity. the shift in production standard that came when Omar R-L started self-producing tells you all you need about what Rubin had to work with on Deloused and how necessary he was to the process. by all means hold onto that 00s alt rock/radio metal nostalgia, but idk why you're expecting me to humour it

| JohnnyoftheWell SOAD, RHCP and TMV are all infamously poorly engineered in their work with him and recognised as such by their own fanbases, and the range of artists he's worked with attests to his value as a celebrity tie-in more than anything else - can *you* pinpoint what he specifically brought to Adele or LDR? His creative input on Yeezus turned out excellently, but that was in a last-minute advisory capacity for material far removed from the MTV fodder he'd spent the last 15 yrs shilling out

| JohnnyoftheWell worked on a couple of legendary albums, pioneered awful guitar-driven frat hip hop with the beastie boys and others, was one of the single most guilty parties in brickwalling workable material to mush as the CD era hit its stride (as per RHCP TMV's lifeless-sounding debut), washed up in the 00s as an overpaid name-in-the-room as per slipknot/linkin park and friends (and you can read up on how much *they* hated working with him). get your rolling stone copypasta out of my shoutbox
